On Saturday right after Iowa's football game against Northwester, BTN airs the latest "Big Ten Elite," which profiles the 1985 Iowa Football team. Led by Head Coach Hayden Fry and senior quarterback Chuck Long, the Hawkeyes won their second Big Ten Title in a five-year span and headed to the Rose Bowl.
The one hour show included extended interviews with Fry, Long, linebacker Larry Station, then assistant coaches Kirk Ferentz and Bob Stoops, and kicker Rob Houghtlin among others. In the clip in this post, watch several people describe Iowa football before Fry arrived and then hear Fry himself describe what it was like to take over the team.
This show also features highlights of the Hawkeyes' thrilling 12-10 victory over Michigan in a battle between the nation's two top-ranked teams.
