Earlier this year, we saw first-year Wisconsin football coach Gary Andersen tell walk-on Nick Hill that he was now on scholarship (watch). Well, another first-year coach has broken the great news to another committed walk-on. This time, it was new Northwestern basketball coach Chris Collins surprising senior walk-on James Montgomery III. Watch the video in this post.

These things never get old. Seriously. And the footage of Montgomery III delivering the news to his mother and sister is fantastic.

Montgomery III earned his scholarship. As a freshman, he was a practice player for the women's program, and he spent the past two seasons as a walk-on under former coach Bill Carmody.
