BTN will debut school-specific episodes of The Journey: Big Ten Men?s Basketball 2013 this week featuring the four Big Ten teams reaching the Sweet 16: Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State. Journey editors have compiled a 30-minute episode from the stories of the past season.
The episodes will air Wednesday and Thursday following the NCAA Sweet 16 pre-game press conferences. At approximately 3 PM ET on Wednesday, BTN will air The Journey: Best of Indiana, directly following the Indiana and Syracuse pre-game press conference at 2 PM ET. The Journey: Best of Ohio State will air at 3:30 PM ET, followed by the Ohio State and Arizona pre-game press conference at 4 PM ET. At approximately 3 PM ET on Thursday, BTN will air The Journey: Best of Michigan State directly following the Michigan State and Duke pre-game press conference at 2 PM ET. The Journey: Best of Michigan will air at approximately 4:30 PM ET, following the pre-game press conference with Michigan and Kansas beginning at 3:30 PM ET.
Now in its sixth season, The Journey travels to each Big Ten campus to capture best stories surrounding each program. In East Lansing, viewers learned about Michigan State?s freshman guard Gary Harris and junior center Adreian Payne, who has built a special friendship with a young cancer patient in East Lansing. The Journey also brought viewers to Ann Arbor, where they caught up with Michigan's sophomore guard Trey Burke and assistant coach Bacari Alexander, who takes a unique approach to motivating his team.
While in Columbus, The Journey captured stories on men?s basketball head coach Thad Matta and his roots in Hoopeston, Ill., junior point guard Aaron Craft and junior forward DeShaun Thomas, who talks about how becoming a father has altered his life. In Bloomington, cameras caught up with Indiana junior guards Victor Oladipo and Maurice Creek, who describes how he has maintained focus despite sustaining several serious injuries throughout his collegiate career.
BTN?s coverage of Big Ten teams in the NCAA Tournament continues at 9 PM ET Wednesday, with Big Ten Basketball and Beyond: Tournament Edition. The show also airs at 6:30 PM Thursday, and following Thursday?s games, and at 6:30 PM ET Friday and following Friday?s games.
