BTN?s new series, BTN LiveBIG, continues Monday with featured stories highlighting how the Buckeye community is making a difference in a variety of ways, from improving automobile safety to raising millions for breast cancer research. Through remarkable research and service, Ohio State strives to improve the quality of life for others. The program will air at 9:30 p.m. ET.

The Buckeye-focused episode will highlight two ways in which ground-breaking OSU research seeks to improve automotive safety. In one segment, professors and students working in Ohio State?s Center for Occupational Health in Automotive Manufacturing, or COHAM, test the effects manufacturing systems have on the workers? health, to help protect them from on the job injuries. In the second, a full-fledged driving simulator mimics real people behind the wheel to give researchers into drivers? thoughts and mindsets to help determine what causes accidents.

Additionally, Ohio State Men?s Basketball Head Coach Thad Matta discusses his off-the-court goals for his players. And after losing his wife to breast cancer in 2009, College Hall of Fame linebacker Chris Spielman continues to fight the disease, raising over $10 million through the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research.
