Aaron White scored 21 points to lead Iowa to an 87-63 win over South Dakota on Tuesday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City. Adam Woodbury was 5-of-6 from the floor and chipped in 10 points for Iowa (7-2), which also got double-digit efforts from Devyn Marble (14) and Mike Gesell (12).
Down 25-24 with 7:13 to go in the first half, Iowa broke out for a 21-4 run to take a 16-point lead late in the first. Gesell capped the run off with a field goal that helped the Hawkeyes lead 45-32 at the half.
Trevor Gruis had 16 points for South Dakota (4-5) in the loss. Jordan Boots had a quality shooting game, nailing 3-of-5 shots from the field and scoring nine points. The Coyotes struggled from the floor, shooting 35 percent (19-of-55). South Dakota was hot from long range, hitting 9-of-22 threes for a 41 percent night from beyond the arc. The Coyotes also got a double-digit game from Casey Kasperbauer, who scored 14.

HALFTIME: Aaron White has 12 points to lead Iowa to a 45-32 lead over South Dakota at the end of the first half. Trailing 30-29, the Coyotes went cold, going 3:11 without a point while the Hawkeyes went on a 15-0 run to open up a 16-point lead. South Dakota put the clamps on Iowa's three-point game (0-of-7, zero percent from long range), while the Hawkeyes shot 58 percent in the first half on two-point field goals.
