All four competing Big Ten teams placed in the top 25 at the NCAA Women?s Cross Country Championships on Saturday. Michigan took fifth, Penn State finished 14th, Michigan State placed 16th and Minnesota landed 22nd.

Iowa?s Mareike Schrulle earned the Big Ten?s top finish, taking seventh place en route to All-America honors. Schrulle finished the 6,000-meter course in 19:43, a personal best and the second-fastest time in Iowa history. Schrulle is the Hawkeyes? fourth top-10 NCAA finisher since 2006.

Tori Perritook 47th individually to lead the Nittany Lions, while Jillian Smith placed 52nd to pace the Wolverines, and Sara Kroll followed at 53rd for the Spartans.
