Iowa (3-0) held Howard (0-2) to 27 percent shooting from the field. Roy Devyn Marble had a big performance for the Hawkeyes, with 22 points and 9-of-15 shooting from the field.

After going into the break with momentum, Iowa kept its foot on the gas to start the second half. The Hawkeyes led 30-16 with 1:35 left in the first half before they widened the margin to 26 points with a 14-2 run that ended with 15:58 in the game. Eric May shot 3-of-5 from the field and scored eight points for Iowa. The Hawkeyes went 18-of-25 from the charity stripe as a team (72 percent).
Iowa also got a double-digit game from Aaron White, who scored 16. Mike Phillips had 11 points for the Bison in the game.
HALFTIME: Roy Devyn Marble scored 15 points for Iowa in the first half to carry the Hawkeyes to a 36-16 lead over Howard. The Bison were limited to 24 percent shooting. The long-distance game has been bottled up for Iowa, who made 2-of-10 from beyond the arc in the first half, while shooting 67 percent (12-of-18) on two-point shots. Seven Iowa players have scored.
Mike Phillips led the way for Howard in the first half, with seven points.
