Utah State's Josh Thompson missed a 37-yard field goal with seconds remaining, allowing Wisconsin to hold on for a 16-14 victory Saturday night. Thompson missed the kick wide right, preserving a win for the Badgers (2-1).
Trailing 14-3 at halftime, the Badgers got an 82-yard punt return from Kenzel Doe to begin their comeback. Montee Ball shook off a rough night to score the go-ahead touchdown on a 17-yard run late in the third quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER: Montee Ball led the ground attack for No. 22 Wisconsin, rushing for 144 yards and one touchdown on 38 carries in the Badgers' 16-14 victory over Utah State on Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium. Utah State missed a potential game-winning 37-yard field goal with eight seconds left.
Chuckie Keeton did his best to carry the Aggies' offense, turning 15 carries into 76 rushing yards. The Aggies managed 309 total yards in the game.
The Badgers' offense finished the game having gained 236 yards, including 78 passing yards on seven completions. Wisconsin's running game proved effective, netting 158 yards on 45 rushes.
Utah State's Keeton was good for 182 yards during the game, completing 19 of 35 passes. Keeton finished the game with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Keeton had a trusted receiver in Kerwynn Williams. He caught seven passes for 78 yards and one touchdown.
