John Goodman caught a 36-yard touchdown pass, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish lead 7-0 at the end of the first quarter. Notre Dame struck first when Everett Golson threw a 36-yard touchdown pass to Goodman, the final play of a four-play, 51-yard drive.

No. 10 Michigan State has the ball on its own 27-yard line to begin the second quarter.
