The Fighting Illini added to their advantage when Taylor Zalewski drilled a 47-yard field goal, putting a bow on a six-play, 25-yard drive to give Illinois the lead, 30-0. The Fighting Illini ran just one time during that march downfield.
Illinois opened up the lead, 37-0, after marching down the field for a two-play, 25-yard drive that ended when O'Toole threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Jon Davis. The Fighting Illini started in good field position when Illinois returned a punt.
