Thanks to a mean rushing attack, No. 19 Michigan leads 7-3 at the end of the first quarter. The Wolverines rushed for 100 yards in the quarter. The Wolverines got on the scoreboard first, rattling off a two-play, 80-yard drive that ended in a score when Denard Robinson took a quarterback draw all the way for a 79-yard touchdown run.

A 71-yard drive that ended when Parker Herrington kicked a 21-yard field goal helped Air Force narrow the deficit to 7-3. Despite driving to Michigan's three-yard line, the Falcons had to settle for a field goal. Air Force kept the ball on the ground during the drive, throwing only two passes.

The Wolverines will start the second quarter with possession at the Falcons' 25-yard line.
