Alabama's high-powered offense resulted in 10 points in the second quarter, and the Crimson Tide now lead Michigan 31-7. Alabama racked up 61 passing yards and 66 rushing yards in the quarter. The Crimson Tide opened up the lead, 24-0, after marching down the field for a seven-play, 61-yard drive that ended when Jeremy Shelley kicked a 22-yard field goal. Alabama made the score 31-0 when C.J. Mosley intercepted Denard Robinson's pass and returned it for a touchdown.
Michigan got on the scoreboard and made it 31-7 after Robinson kept it himself for a six-yard touchdown run to finish off a 75-yard drive. The Wolverines' drive was keyed by Robinson's 71-yard pass to Jeremy Gallon.
Michigan is set to receive to start the second half.
