In the second quarter, Le'Veon Bell continued to be a workhorse, running for 50 yards and catching three balls for 21 yards. Despite Bell's efforts, the Spartans have fallen behind Boise State, 13-10. The Broncos are currently on a 10-point run. Boise State made the score 10-10 when Jeremy Ioane intercepted a Andrew Maxwell pass and returned it for a touchdown.

Boise State broke the tie when Michael Frisina made a 19-yard field goal to cap off a five-play, 28-yard scoring drive. The Broncos' drive was highlighted by Joe Southwick's 40-yard pass to Matt Miller. Boise State squandered an opportunity to score a touchdown, missing a chance to score from Michigan State's two-yard line before settling for the field goal.

The Spartans' Bell topped 100 yards rushing for the game in the quarter, and has plenty of time to add to his 107 yards. Michigan State will get the ball to start the second half.
