Nebraska's volleyball team is 3-0 and moved up to No. 1 in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll released Monday afternoon, thanks in large part to Saturday's upset win over defending NCAA champs UCLA. That match aired live on BTN and we're showing it again tonight on TV at 9 p.m. ET.
Since 2001, the Huskers have been ranked No. 1 for 50 weeks, including holding the top spot nationally for the entire 2006 season and for 15 weeks during the 2005 season. Nebraska was last ranked No. 1 on Oct. 24, 2011 .Read more at Huskers.com.
The Huskers beat the Bruins 3-2 (25-20, 25-23, 23-25, 19-25, 15-13) in front of 4,186 roaring fans at the NU Coliseum. Freshman Meghan Haggerty recorded a team-high 17 kills on 25 swings for a .600 hitting percentage and added three blocks. Seniors Gina Mancuso and Hannah Werth had 15 and 12 kills, respectively. Lauren Cook had 56 assists and was named co-Big Ten Player of the Week.
