Former basketball star Shawn Respert and five other Spartan products will be inducted into the Michigan State Athletics Hall of Fame on Thursday, Sept. 20, it was announced Friday. Respert, the program's all-time leading scorer, is joined in this year's class by Carl Banks (football), Emily Bastel (women?s golf), Clinton Jones (football/track), Diane Spoelstra (women?s basketball/softball/volleyball) and George Szypula (men?s gymnastics coach).
