Ohio State confirmed Monday that football players Jack Mewhort and Jake Stoneburner have been suspended indefinitely following their arrests Saturday on misdemeanor charges of obstructing official business. The Toledo Blade broke the news Sunday night. Mewhort, a junior offensive lineman, and Stoneburner, a senior tight end, will be barred from the football facilities until their case is settled. The players' arraignment is June 11 at Delaware Municipal Court.
Here's Ohio State's official release:
"Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer confirmed today (Monday, June 4) that student-athletes Jake Stoneburner and Jack Mewhort have been suspended from all football team activities. There will be no further comment on the issue at this time."
