NU lacrosse advances to national title game

As it has every year since 2005, six-time national champion Northwestern women's lacrosse will spend Memorial Day weekend competing for the NCAA championship, thanks to a dazzling 9-7 semifinal victory over No. 3 Maryland Friday night in Stony Brook, N.Y.

Northwestern will face fourth-seeded Syracuse in the championship game at 7 p.m. CT Sunday (ESPNU) after the Orange earned its first-ever trip to the title contest with a 14-13 sudden-victory upset of top-ranked Florida.
