Needing a win to stay alive in the Big Ten Tournament, the Michigan State baseball team defeated Ohio State, 6-2, Friday afternoon in an elimination game at Huntington Park. The Spartans (37-20) will now play on Saturday at 3:35 p.m. against the loser of the Purdue-Indiana game, which is being played Friday night.

The No. 6 seed Ohio State baseball team topped No. 4 seed Nebraska, 6-2, in the first game of the day but fell to No. 5 seed Michigan State, 6-2, in an elimination game Friday afternoon at Huntington Park. The second game Friday was the Buckeyes? third game in 24 hours as Ohio State concluded its season with a 33-27 overall record.
