The University of Iowa softball team won its third straight Big Ten series, downing Indiana, 10-0, in five innings on a soggy Sunday afternoon at Pearl Field. Following the game, the Hawkeyes recognized seniors Katie Keim and Liz Watkins for Senior Day. The victory improves Iowa's record to 23-24 overall and 12-6 in the Big Ten, while Indiana falls to 24-25 overall and 8-10 in conference play. Senior Adrienne Monka broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth inning of the first game of a Sunday doubleheader against Ohio State by crushing the sixth home run in Sharon J. The spotlight was on the Boilermaker seniors in their final home game and the pair came through big in a 6-5 victory over Wisconsin. Molly Garst led the Purdue bats and Katie Hackney picked up the win on Sunday as Purdue won the series with the Badgers and reached the 30-win milestone for the 15th time in program history. The Penn State softball team was heroic again on Sunday at Beard Field, beating Minnesota for the third straight time in walk-off fashion as Lauren Yao clubbed a single to win 4-3.
