The Big Ten Conference released its Big Ten Softball Players of the Week for March 19-25 action Monday. See all the winners and check out what they did to earn the distinctions in this post.
Player of the Week: Brooke Thomason, Nebraska, Jr., OF, Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley Northwest
- Helped Nebraska to a weekend sweep of Northwestern, driving in seven runs and scoring four times while hitting .417 on the week
- Had a career day in the series opener, belting two home runs, including a walk-off grand slam, finishing the day with five RBI
- Scored once in the final two games of the three-game set, also plating two runs in the finale
- Wins her first Big Ten Player of the Week honor
- Last Nebraska Player of the Week: Ashley Guile (Feb. 13, 2012)
Co-Pitcher of the Week: Haylie Wagner, Michigan, Fr., LHP, Orange, Calif./El Modena
- Won all three games in Michigan?s sweep of Penn State last weekend
- Surrendered just two hits in each game, finishing the week with 10 strikeouts against just three walks
- Held the Nittany Lion batters to a .118 average, finishing the week with a 1.40 ERA and allowing six earned runs over 15.0 innings pitched
- Claims her third career Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honor
- Last Michigan Pitcher of the Week: Haylie Wagner (March 5, 2012)
Tatum Edwards, Nebraska, So., P, Murrieta, Calif./Vista Murrieta
- Pitched a complete game against Northwestern, surrendering one unearned in her first start since Feb. 25
- Struck out six against just one walk and scattered five hits in the final game of Nebraska?s series sweep
- Retired 13 of the final 14 batters she faced
- Wins her first Big Ten Pitcher of the Week accolade

Freshman of the Week: Lauren Sweet, Michigan, C, Corona, Calif./Santiago
- Hit .833 (5-for-6) in Michigan?s weekend series against Penn State
- Had two multi-hit games during the series, driving in three runs and scoring three times against the Nittany Lions
- Launched her third home run of the season in Game 2 of the series, leading her to a 2.400 OPS over three games against Penn State
- Wins her first weekly honor
