The Big Ten Conference announced the season's first Softball Players of the Week for action Feb. 6-12. See all the winners and what they did to earn the recognition in this post.
Player of the Week: Ashley Guile, Nebraska, Sr., 1B, Olathe, Kan./Olathe East
- Hit .550 and combined for an OPS of 1.459 to help Nebraska to three victories in its season opening tournament, highlighted by a win over No. 8 Arizona
- Was 11-for-20 from the plate, with multi-hit games against Arizona, Idaho State and Cal State Northridge, finishing with eight RBI and eight runs scored
- Homered against Cal State Northridge and also recorded three doubles throughout the tournament, posting an .850 slugging percentage
- Records her first Big Ten Player of the Week honor
- Last Nebraska Player of the Week: N/A
Pitcher of the Week: Sara Moulton, Minnesota, So, RHP, Eagan, Minn./Eagan
- Threw the 15th no-hitter in Minnesota history to help the Gophers open the season with a 3-1 record last weekend, earning the decision in each contest
- Posted an 0.74 ERA over 19 innings of work, striking out 24 while allowing just three hits and four walks
- Pitched seven innings of no-hit ball against Kent State in the season opener, one of two complete games the sophomore pitched last weekend
- Claims her second career Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honor
- Last Minnesota Pitcher of the Week: Sara Moulton (March 14, 2011)
Co-Freshman of the Week: Megan Blank, Iowa, SS, Culver City, Calif./Marymount
- Earned All-Tournament honors at the Getterman Classic after hitting .583 (7-for-12) with six runs and two steals over five games last weekend
- Reached base at nearly a 70 percent clip, getting on twice or more in four games, including a perfect 3-for-3 against Arkansas and walking four times against Wichita State
- Scored the game-winning run against Texas-Arlington, one of four contests in which she scored at least one run
- Picks up her first Big Ten Freshman of the Week accolade
- Last Iowa Freshman of the Week: N/A
Sara Driesenga, Michigan, RHP, Hudsonville, Mich./Hudsonville
- Posted a 2-0 record in her debut for the Wolverines with victories over Louisiana Tech and No. 22 LSU
- Pitched four innings of two-hit ball, surrendering just two unearned runs and three walks in earning the win against Louisiana Tech
- Allowed just one earned run in seven innings of work, striking out two and giving up just three hits in a 2-1 Michigan victory over LSU
- Picks up her first Big Ten Freshman of the Week accolade
