(AP) Chris Fields returned a punt 69 yards and Carlos Hyderan for two more scores to lead No. 15 Ohio State past Toledo 27-22 Saturday, a win that was secure only after the Buckeyes held the Rockets' on their last drive. The Rockets (1-1) drove from their own 28 to the Ohio State 17 before backup quarterback Terrance Owens threw incomplete on fourth down while being pressured by John Simon. Ohio State (2-0) has not lost to another Ohio team since 1921. The Buckeyes are 43-0-1 since that 7-6 setback to Oberlin. FINAL: Eric Page caught 12 passes for 145 yards, but Toledo lost to Ohio State 27-22 on Saturday at Ohio Stadium. The Buckeyes and the Rockets traded the lead all game long. There were five lead changes in the game before Ohio State ended up on top for good. The Buckeyes' Joe Bauserman went 16 of 30 through the air for a total of 189 yards. Bauserman tossed one touchdown and no interceptions. Home run plays keyed Ohio State's scoring attack. Toledo's defense gave up four plays of at least 20 yards. With 4:51 to go in the third quarter, Bauserman found Devin Smith open for a 36-yard pass, the Buckeyes' biggest gain of the game. The big gainer was part of a nine-play drive capped off when Carlos Hyde ran two yards to paydirt. That gave Ohio State a 27-22 lead. The Buckeyes' offense finished the game having gained 302 yards. Along with Bauserman's stats in the passing game, Ohio State also added 113 yards rushing on 34 attempts. The Rockets' Austin Dantin went 14 of 26 through the air for a total of 155 yards. Dantin finished the game with one touchdown and no interceptions. Toledo's offense finished the game having gained 345 yards, including 292 passing yards on 21 completions. The Rockets rushed 28 times for just 53 yards.

FOURTH QUARTER: Ohio State and Toledo combined for a total of no points and one turnover in a sloppy fourth quarter and the Buckeyes kept the Rockets at bay for a 27-22 victory. Toledo's Adonis Thomas went over 100 yards receiving for the game in the quarter, he finished with 111 yards receiving overall.

THIRD QUARTER: Ohio State leads 27-22 at the end of the third quarter, but Toledo continues to hang around and refuses to bow out. Adonis Thomas' four-yard touchdown run gave the Rockets a 22-21 lead and was the final play of a four-play, 60-yard drive. Carlos Hyde's two-yard touchdown run gave the Buckeyes the lead 27-22 after a six-play 55-yard drive. Ohio State will start the fourth quarter with possession.

SECOND QUARTER: The expected blowout hasn't materialized yet and Toledo is hanging tough with Ohio State down 21-15 at the end of the second quarter. The Buckeyes' defense held tough in the quarter, holding the Rockets to 22 total yards of offense. The last 13 points have been scored by Ohio State. A 42-yard drive that ended when Carlos Hyde turned a handoff into a 36-yard touchdown helped the Buckeyes narrow the deficit to 15-14. Ohio State's drive began with good field position at Toledo's 42-yard line thanks to a Buckeyes' punt return. Ohio State made the score 21-15 when Chris Fields returned a punt for a touchdown. The Rockets will have possession to start the second half.

FIRST QUARTER: A potential upset is brewing as Toledo leads Ohio State 15-7 at the end of the first quarter. The Rockets got things going through the air in the quarter, passing for 124 yards. The last 15 points have been scored by Toledo. The Buckeyes struck first, marching down the field with a seven-play, 67-yard drive that resulted in a 7-0 lead after Joe Bauserman threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Jake Stoneburner. Austin Dantin's six-yard touchdown pass to Eric Page gave the Rockets the lead 8-7 after a two-play one-yard drive. A blocked punt set Toledo up at Ohio State's one-yard line to start. The Rockets added two more points when Hank Keighley completed a two-yard pass.The Rockets made their lead 15-7 when Terrance Owens tossed a 66-yard touchdown to Page on the last play of a two-play, 70-yard drive. Toledo's Page went over 100 yards receiving for the game in the quarter, he now has 102 yards receiving in the game. The Rockets will start the second quarter with the ball on their 27-yard line.
