#BTNLive is a new live one-hour radio show that started this week and it also airs as a TV simulcast twice a week on BTN. Featuring a variety of guests, our panel discusses the Big Ten topics of the day, and the first week of the show was a busy one. Purdue defensive tackle Kawann Short thought about turning pro after last season, but he didn’t like what he was hearing from the NFL advisory board. So, he’s back for a senior season. And the affable Short just may be the top defensive tackle in the Big Ten. He got off to strong start in the opener vs. Eastern Kentucky, registering a tackle for loss and sack in the Boilermakers’ 48-6 victory. There’s an interesting trend going on with star Big Ten football players. It all started when former Illinois running back Mikel Leshoure revealed in the days leading up to the 2011 NFL Draft that people had mispronounced his name all along. Enter the 2012 Big Ten season, and there are three more pronunciation changes: Wisconsin’s Montee Ball, Minnesota’s Troy Stoudermire and Purdue’s Kawann Short. Purdue DT Kawann Short signs BTN tour bus

The BTN tour bus was in West Lafayette, Ind., on Wednesday so our crew could watch Purdue practice and get a chance to talk to the coaching staff and top players. One of those players, Kawann Short, also added a little something to the BTN tour bus. As is tradition this summer, the player from each team represented on our bus signed their likeness.
