Watch Pat Fitzgerald celebrate Northwestern's first NCAA tourney win in locker room

It’s cliche to say someone bleeds his or her school color, but Northwestern legend Pat Fitzgerald just may bleed purple. The former Northwestern student and all-world linebacker and current football coach loves his school, and all of its sporting teams. Fitzgerald gave everyone an idea of his Northwestern fandom Thursday, when cameras captured him interrupting Chris Collins’ postgame speech to congratulate the team on winning the program’s first NCAA tourney game in its debut. Northwestern looks to improve to 2-0 in the tourney and advance to its first Sweet 16 vs. No. 1 seed Gonzaga at 5:15 p.m. ET Saturday.
