Northwestern received good news Tuesday from the NCAA, which ruled USC transfer receiver Kyle Prater will be eligible to play this fall.
I want to thank the NCAA for allowing me to play this upcoming year, I'm so blessed for this opportunity, it has been a journey #GoCats—

Typically, transfers from one four-year FBS school to another must sit out a season. But Prater received a waiver from the NCAA to play this fall. He will bolster what already is a deep and talented collection of Northwestern receivers led by Detmetrius Fields, Christian Jones, Tony Jones and Rashad Lawrence, among others.
The 6-5, 215-pound Prater, who was ranked the No. 45 player in the nation by ESPN coming out of Proviso West High in the Chicagoland area, was injured for most of his two seasons with USC.
