Bowl Projections: Wildcats in Rose Bowl

With Nebraska, Wisconsin and Illinois losing, my weekly bowl projections have changed. Michigan’s great escape vs. Akron also caused me to shuffle bowl slots. But, Ohio State continues to take care of business, so there is no change at the top of my projections. So, let’s get to it: Here are my Week 4 bowl projections.

If Illinois plays in a bowl New Year’s Day, it will lesson the crowd at the Big Ten opener against Indiana New Year’s Eve.

Wow, Nine Bowl teams. I would love it. Not going to happen, but I would glad to be wrong!

I am sorry, but I doubt Northwestern overtakes Michigan for the Rose Bowl. I understand that Michigan had a bad game, players didn’t prepare for the game thinking they would win by 50, but Northwestern’s defense has some serious problems.

Northwestern in the Rose Bowl? Is it possible? That would be just the most amazing thing ever! (If they won it, they could rub it in Wiscy’s face that they know how to win a Rose Bowl).

OSU won’t make the championship and I think they steal the Rose Bowl and end up giving Nebraska or Michigan the at-large BCS bid due to fan base.

OSU isn’t going to the NC game. Stanford or Oregon will have only one loss and thats only because they play each other. The winner will get in against Bama. Bama gets in because their schedule might be worse than OSU’s.

If there are three undefeateds than I agree OSU is likely on the outside looking in at the NC game. If they are undefeated and only one other undefeated their in. PAC12 is going to be wild so getting through the schedule without a loss would be quite an accomplishment.

You have got to be crazy if you think that THE ohio state university will not be in the national title game. They easily have the best running back(S) in the conference if not the country and they havent even played Carlos Hyde yet. Lets not forget to mention Kenny Guiton the SECOND string quarter back getting national recognition this week for his play on the field. the only question mark that this buckeyes team has is on the defensive side of the ball but they have a coach that will take them to the promise land URBAN MEYER FOR PRESIDENT!!!

IU not in a bowl game! Really? Wow

Paul on 9/17/2013 @ 9:29am EDT Said:

Ohio in the title game is wishful thinking. Northwestern likely won’t win the conference, and Purdue still has a chance to get to a bowl if the improvement seen at the ND game continues.

Michigan fan on 9/17/2013 @ 10:07am EDT Said:

Northwestern should have beaten us in the Big House last year if not for a hail mary, and they graduated no skill players on offense or defense. Fitzgerald has done an amazing job recruiting there (he actually has legitimate athletes now as opposed to over-achievers), and their offense is tough to stop. If I had to pick the Big Ten Championship game now, I would have to go Northwestern v. Ohio State.

Larry on 9/17/2013 @ 1:34pm EDT Said:

We all know that picking teams this early is irreverent. We can only go by what we have seen. I am sure by the middle of the Big Ten schedule we will know a whole lot more about them. Then, it will get interesting. Northwestern looks good right now. Michigan did beat Notre Dame, but Notre Dame doesn’t look all that sharp just yet. If Ohio States offense gets even faster on snaps, they could prove to be difficult. Cal’s defense practices against one of the fastest offenses as per snaps in the BCS. Yet they got caught a few times trying to substitute defenses against Ohio State. Wisconsin should have not been beat. They got a raw deal. If Nebraska’s defense can improve, they will be there in the mix. Lot of question marks right now. But it’s fun to second guess ourselves.

All I can say is that without some upsets, I don’t know if there will be 8 team going bowling let alone 9 (especially dependent on how many wins PSU gets since they aren’t eligible).
