The Big Ten men’s basketball season officially tips off Friday night. Before the ball goes into the air, the BTN.com team thought it would be fun to hold a Big Ten mock draft. Our draft consisted of five teams and six rounds, and we all selected a starting 5 and one “reserve,” which could be any player.
Monday night, #BTNLive welcomed Ron Kellogg III to the show to discuss his game-winning Hail Mary pass Saturday. Tuesday night, we invited Jordan Westerkamp to the show to talk about his catch. Westerkamp wasn’t alone, though, as we had former Nebraska receiver and current radio analyst Matt Davison join him. Davison, of course, caught the 1997 game-winning deflected pass at Missouri.
The nation is still buzzing over the Hail Mary pass (Watch it!) that Nebraska completed in the dying moments last Saturday to beat Northwestern, 27-24. But it wouldn’t have happened if Ameer Abdullah had not picked up a huge first down on the fourth-and-15 dump-off pass featured in the video above.
On Wednesday’s episode of “The Journey: Big Ten Football 2013,” presented by Best Buy, we go inside Michigan’s game preparations for Michigan State through the eyes of senior tackle Taylor Lewan and longtime equipment manager Jon Falk. Also, learn about the longtime friendship between Northwestern’s Kain Colter and Nebraska’s Kenny Bell, and trace Purdue coach Darrell Hazell’s Ohio State roots.
BTN’s Kevin Egan and former Northwestern soccer standout Matt Eliason look at Penn State’s path to clinching a second straight Big Ten regular-season title. They also preview the last few regular season games and talk about how things will shape up for the Big Ten Men’s Soccer Tournament that kicks off Nov. 13.
