BTN.com’s Brent Yarina is in the middle of unveiling his 2012-13 preseason Big Ten Player Rankings one by one. The countdown goes in reverse order, of course, and each installment includes player stats and one video highlight from last season. Once the season starts, Yarina will release a weekly Player Rankings every Monday. Up next, at No. 4: Minnesota’s Trevor Mbakwe.
Just when you thought the Big Ten was a straight forward two-horse race, Penn State and Michigan produce heroics and throw huge spanners in the works! Aron Hyde and I predicted wins for Indiana and Northwestern on last week’s BTN Soccer Report, and it seemed like a logical assessment. But from a neutral’s standpoint, it’s a great thing that we were so wrong.

Eight weeks in the books, the “Big Ten Football Report” guys decided to address the topic of Big Ten Coach of the Year on a special web-only video Monday. BTN.com’s Tom Dienhart and Brent Yarina debated the topic a couple weeks ago, as well. There are a few worthy early candidates, from Urban Meyer to Bill O’Brien.
