Nebraska (7-3) led 50-35 after a pair of Talley free throws with 7 minutes remaining. Jacksonville State (8-3) then outscored the Cornhuskers 18-4, closing with 56-55 on Ronnie Boggs‘ corner 3-pointer with 23 seconds left. No. 7 Ohio State tops feisty Winthrop, 65-55

Deshaun Thomas scored 21 points – missing nine straight shots at one point and making five in a row at another – to lead No. 7 Ohio State past Winthrop 65-55 on Tuesday night. It was the last tuneup for the Buckeyes (9-1) before Saturday’s rematch with No. 9 Kansas. The Jayhawks beat them twice last year, once at Allen Fieldhouse and then in the Final Four. Season in review: Purdue football

Purdue is going to a bowl for a second consecutive season but the Boilermakers had to finish with a flurry to get there. More was expected from Danny Hope’s fourth team, and that’s why he was fired and Darrell Hazell was hired from Kent State. The offense struggled much of the season and lacked an identity and consistency. But a defense with several legit NFL prospects was the biggest disappointment, ranking No. 11 overall in the Big Ten (407.3 ypg) and 10th in scoring defense (29.0 ppg).
