The Michigan and Nebraska softball teams both advanced to next weekend’s Super Regionals with impressive wins over Pac-12 foes Sunday. Nebraska is on pace to never miss the Big Ten baseball tournament. OK, to be fair, it’s a modest 2-for-2 when it comes to making the conference’s annual six-team, double elimination tourney. Nonetheless, it’s an impressive feat, especially when one considers all the factors a team faces when it changes conferences. All-Big Ten honoree Michael Pritchard is a big reason for Nebraska’s early Big Ten success, and we featured him in this video.
By working its way to a 5-0 lead and holding its opponent without a shot for the first 17 minutes of the game, No. 2 Northwestern set the tone for what turned into a convincing 15-7 win over No. 7 Penn State in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship in front of over 1,100 fans Saturday night in Evanston.
Fresh off its first outright Big Ten title since 1932, Indiana will be the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten baseball tournament Wednesday-Saturday (Sunday, if necessary) at Target Field. The Hoosiers, along with Ohio State, earned a first-round bye in the six-team, double-elimination tourney that opens at 1:05 p.m. ET Wednesday. All 10 games will air live on BTN/BTN2Go.
The last time the Indiana baseball team won the outright Big Ten title, Babe Ruth was calling his shot. Eighty-one years later, the Hoosiers are back on top of the Big Ten baseball world. Indiana, which clinched a share of its first title since 1949 on Friday, made it an outright crown in Saturday’s 8-1 victory at Ohio State.

Clark showed off his best Caray impersonation while introducing the Michigan lineup prior to Saturday’s game at Nebraska. Watch the entertaining intro here.
