The fourth-ranked Minnesota wrestling team rallied from behind to beat the eighth-ranked Illini, 18-14 on Monday night. The Gophers were sparked by Scott Schiller’s upset of Mario Gonzalez at 197-pounds.
Maggie Lucas shot 5 of 16 from the field and Alex Bentley went 8 of 21. To make matters worse, Nikki Greene played only 18 minutes because of foul trouble. Faced with some adversity for the first time in a while, No. 8 Penn State kept the pressure on until No. 23 Michigan finally ran out of responses.
