2nd Quarter Recap: Louisiana Tech 21, Illinois 17

Louisiana Tech’s front seven stepped up in the second quarter, allowing Illinois to gain just 21 rushing yards, and the Bulldogs now lead 21-17. The last 10 points have been scored by the Fighting Illini. Illinois capped a one-yard drive when Taylor Zalewski kicked a 26-yard field goal to make the score 21-10. A fumble recovery by the Fighting Illini set Illinois up at Louisiana Tech’s 10-yard line to start the drive.

Minnesota scored when Donnell Kirkwood ran two yards to paydirt to put the finishing touches on a five-play, 58-yard drive, giving the Golden Gophers the game’s first lead. The key play on Minnesota’s drive was Antonio Johnson’s 40-yard pass to Devin Crawford-Tufts.
