2013 National Signing Day: Illinois

Illinois head football coach Tim Beckman announced Wednesday the signing of 15 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to play football for the Fighting Illini in 2013. The 15 newest Illini join 10 other newcomers who are already on campus taking classes – five early enrollees and five junior college transfers – in the 25-man 2013 recruiting class.

Mock brackets: How does Big Ten stack up?

The weekly mock brackets are out, and the Big Ten looks primed for seven bids—at least for now, as Illinois seems to be hanging by a thread. The Fighting Illini appear in three of the four mock brackets I check each week. Each analyst also has two Big Ten teams as No. 1 seeds, with Indiana and Michigan leading a group that also includes Michigan State, Ohio State, Minnesota and Wisconsin in each bracket.
