The Iowa women’s soccer team knocked off Valparaiso, 3-1, Sunday afternoon to remain the Big Ten’s lone undefeated team and run its nonconference winning streak to 15 matches, dating back to last season. Best of all, Iowa (6-0-0) suffered no setback playing just two days after taking down heated rival Iowa State on the road. Melanie Pickert, Cloe Lacasse and Dana Dalrymple scored Iowa’s goals. Several Big Ten teams took to the volleyball court and soccer pitch on Friday night. Penn State volleyball came out with a five-set win over Standford, while the Purdue women’s soccer team scored a 2-0 win over Tennessee-Martin. Northwestern followed up their regular-season title with the Big Ten Tounament title. Illinois won its second Big Ten tourney title in program history with a 2-1 overtime victory against Penn State on Sunday. In the latest “BTN Soccer Report,” host Kevin Egan and analyst Aron Hyde recap the tournament and are joined by Illinois sophomore midfielder Vanessa DiBernardo, who scored the game-winning goal in the championship game. No. 14 Penn State women’s soccer won Big Ten title No. 14 this past weekend on Sunday in a 4-0 victory at Michigan. It’s the most consecutive titles by a Big Ten women’s program in any sport, putting Penn State one ahead of the current Northwestern women’s tennis squad.
