Student-athletes can usually look forward to a break from school and sports during the summer months. And while a handful of Huskers recently got a breather from lectures and practices, the work they performed instead was at least as challenging — and rewarding. National champion Nebraska returns home to Lincoln

Nebraska Huskers advance to NCAA Volleyball championship

Nebraska's volleyball team dropped Kansas to advance to Saturday's NCAA Volleyball Tournament Championship against Texas. Fourth-seeded Nebraska used a strong finish to push their way past Kansas and punch their ticket to the championship match. Nebraska won the final seven rallies of the match to defeat the Jayhawks in front of 17,551 fans at the CenturyLink Center, the largest volleyball crowd in NCAA history. Earlier, the Big Ten's Minnesota fell to Texas in the other semifinal.

Omaha Bound: Nebraska advances to national semifinals

There will be an unofficial home team for the 2015 NCAA women’s volleyball Final Four. [ MORE: View the official interactive NCAA bracket ] Nebraska topped Washington, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon to advance to next week’s Final Four in Omaha, Nebraska. The national semifinal berth is the Huskers’ first since the 2008 season, and it marks the ninth consecutive season the Big Ten has had a Final Four representative. Minnesota took down Hawaii on Saturday night, too, to give the Big Ten multiple Final Four teams for the third time in the last four seasons. Nebraska will face Kansas in
