Ohio State swept Penn State in a three-game series, thanks to a 4-3 eighth-inning walk-off victory Sunday at Buckeye Field. Sophomore Caitlin Conrad’s sacrifice fly to center field scored Megan Coletta for the victory. With the sweep, the Buckeyes improve to 26-14 overall and 6-6 in Big Ten play, while Penn State drops to 10-26 overall and 1-10 in league action. The 19th-ranked Nebraska softball team won in its final at bat for the seventh time this season, scoring once in the top of the seventh inning of a 3-2 victory over Iowa on Sunday afternoon at Pearl Field. The No. 21-ranked University of Michigan softball team jumped out to a 3-1 lead after two innings, but No. 3 Alabama scored three unanswered runs to win the second game of the NCAA Super Regional, 4-3, on Friday afternoon at Rhoads Stadium. The loss eliminated Michigan from the NCAA Tournament. Freshman LHP Haylie Wagner picked up the loss after hurling all 7.0 innings, giving up four runs on seven hits with four strikeouts.
