Nebraska QB Taylor Martinez signs BTN tour bus

Two stops down, two Big Ten football player signatures added to the BTN tour bus. The BTN Football Tour was in Lincoln on Thursday night, and that meant it was time for Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez to sign his likeness on our bus. If you haven’t seen the bus yet, either in pictures or on the streets across Big Ten country, a Big Ten player from every team is represented on it. Martinez, a junior, is Nebraska’s representative. B1G stars make SI.com's preseason All-America Team

SI.com released its 2012 Preseason All-America Team on Thursday, and a half-dozen Big Ten players made the original cut (Update: Michigan State CB Johnny Adams was added due to the dismissal of LSU’s Tyrann Mathieu). Wisconsin running back Montee Ball, Wisconsin left tackle Ricky Wagner and Purdue defensive tackle Kawann Short earned first-team honors to headline the Big Ten representatives.

Cox Communications to Launch BTN in California

CHICAGO and SAN DIEGO – Cox Communications and Big Ten Network announced Thursday that it will add BTN to Cox’s lineup in Orange County, Palos Verdes, San Diego and Santa Barbara on Aug. 15, 2012. BTN is the first internationally distributed network dedicated to covering one of the premiere collegiate conferences in the country.

Headed to stop No. 2 on the BTN bus tour: Nebraska. We will watch an evening practice on Thursday, and our preview show will air at 10 p.m. ET Friday. I will be eager to watch the offense in Year Two under coordinator Tim Beck. I think with better familiarity and experienced personnel, the Cornhusker offense will take a big step this fall.
