Minnesota Team Doctor Updates Jerry Kill's Condition

Minnesota football team’s Dr. Pat Smith spoke to the media on Monday afternoon and gave an update on the condition of first-year Gophers’ head coach Jerry Kill, who suffered a seizure in the final seconds of Saturday’s 28-21 defeat to New Mexico State. Smith expects Kill to make a full recovery and be back on the Minnesota sideline “sooner rather than later,” although the timetable for his release is still undetermined, according to the school’s website.

Alvarez Makes Cameo on HBO's Entourage

The popular HBO series “Entourage” featured a couple football legends on its latest episode Sunday night. There was Mike Ditka, the former Super Bowl-winning coach of the Chicago Bears, and then there was an even more familiar face to Big Ten fans: Wisconsin’s Barry Alvarez. Alvarez, the three-time Rose Bowl champion coach and now the director of athletics, appeared on the show as himself. He acted as a motivational speaker for the staff of the fictitious talent agency Miller Gold.

Offensive honors went to Michigan’s Denard Robinson, who led the Wolverines to 28 fourth-quarter points, including two touchdowns in the final 1:12, in a 35-31 win over Notre Dame.
