BTN’s Mike Hall covered Thursday’s memorial service on the Penn State campus and spoke with several people after the event, including former quarterback Daryll Clark and running back Ki-Jana Carter and Penn State radio announcer Steve Jones. Watch each interview in this post, and look back at the entire event in our recap post with more video of each speech.
There were many tributes to the late Joe Paterno on Thursday, and we’ve posted many of the remarks from speakers here. But here we’ve posted the special video tribute that played on the large screen at the memorial held on the Penn State campus. It includes some wonderful archival footage of Paterno both on and off the field. We’ve also added a few other video montages from the service in the post below.

Anya Covington is Miss Reliable for Wisconsin. The senior forward has played in 121 straight games and hasn’t missed one in her entire collegiate career. How has she become that durable? Basketball analyst and writer Patricia Babcock McGraw talked to Covington about that in her latest Gimme 5 audio segment. Jump down in this post to read and hear more.
Here’s something you don’t see every night, much less twice in the same night: Ohio State’s Aaron Craft and Minnesota’s Julian Welch both hit halfcourt shots on attempted alley-oop passes Wednesday. We kid you not. Craft did it first, as his pass to Sam Thompson went through the rim in Ohio State’s easy win over Penn State. Later, Welch, from just behind the midcourt line, threw a pass in Rodney Williams’ direction and into the bucket in Minnesota’s loss at Michigan State. Watch Craft’s shot here and check out Welch’s in this post.
