Badgers Blow Away UNLV, 51-17

Russell Wilson lived up to the hype and made all the offseason talk about him seem worthwhile. The much-talked-about former North Carolina State star led the Badgers on six scoring drives in the first half, including five touchdowns, en route to an easy 51-17 victory over UNLV on Thursday night at Camp Randall Stadium. Wilson did it with his arm (255 yards, 2 TDs) and his legs (62 yards, 1 TD), while Montee Ball scored four touchdowns for the third straight regular-season game, dating back to last year, and added 130 total yards. Northwestern's Persa Questionable For Opener

Northwestern quarterback Dan Persa appeared atop the Wildcats’ depth chart when it was released late last week. But two days before the opener at Boston College, the school’s pregame injury report lists the star as questionable. In other words, Persa might not be physically ready to play in Week 1 as a result of last year’s season-ending Achilles’ injury. Persa and head coach Pat Fitzgerald spent much of the offseason saying the Achilles was good and that Persa would be ready to start the season. That could be the case, although this report indicates he could use another week, if not more.
