The Hawkeyes last made the trip to Pasadena at the end of the 1990 season, losing to Washington, 46-34, in the 1991 Rose Bowl Game.

Twenty-five years later, Iowa is back in the Granddaddy of them All.

Some have called the Rose Bowl a consolation prize for the Hawkeyes, because they likely would have made the playoff if they had held off Michigan State in the Big Ten title game. This is no consolation prize, and Iowa fans are the proof.
