Mike Riley's first spring game as Nebraska's head football coach was a giant success.

The university announced that 76,881 fans attended the annual Red-White Spring Football Game on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.

Nebraska drew 61,772 fans at last year's event, which ranked fifth among all schools in 2014.

Alabama led the nation in spring game attendance last season, drawing a total of 73,506 fans. The Huskers topped that number by more than 3,000 fans Saturday.

According to BTN.com senior writer Tom Dienhart, who was in attendance Saturday, ticket costs were $10 and $15, with kids getting free admission.

The Huskers kick off the 2015 college football season on Sept. 5 against BYU.
