Sixteen teams remain, and Michigan State and Wisconsin are two of them following Sunday's NCAA regional quarterfinals.

The seventh-seeded Spartans eliminated No. 2 Virginia for the second straight season to advance to the Sweet 16 for the fourth consecutive year, while the top-seeded Badgers ousted No. 8 Oregon for the second straight season to move on to their fourth regional semifinal in the last five years.

Iowa and Maryland lost their regional quarterfinals, falling to Gonzaga (87-68) and West Virginia (69-59), respectively.

MICHIGAN STATE 60, VIRGINIA 54: BOX | PBP | AP RECAP
Travis Trice scored 23 points, and Michigan State knocked second-seeded Virginia out of the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year, 60-54 on Sunday. Branden Dawson added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Spartans, who advanced to the Sweet 16 for the seventh time in the last eight seasons.

GONZAGA 87, IOWA 68: BOX | PBP | AP RECAP
Kyle Wiltjer scored 13 of his 24 points during Gonzaga's flawless first half, Domantas Sabonis added 18 points and the second-seeded Bulldogs advanced to the round of 16 for the first time since 2009 with a 87-68 win over No. 7 seed Iowa on Sunday.

WISCONSIN 72, OREGON 65: BOX | PBP | AP RECAP
Sam Dekker scored 17 points to lead four Wisconsin players in double figures, and the No. 1-seeded Badgers are headed back to the Sweet 16 after defeating Oregon 72-65 in the NCAA Tournament on Sunday night.

WEST VIRGINIA 69, MARYLAND 59: BOX | PBP | AP RECAP
Devin Williams had 16 points and 10 rebounds and West Virginia pounded the boards for 16 second-chance points to beat fourth-seeded Maryland 69-59 in the NCAA Tournament on Sunday night. Next up: A showdown with top-ranked Kentucky in the Sweet 16.
