The Big Ten office released its Big Ten Men's Basketball Players of the Week on Monday afternoon, and Ohio State freshman D'Angelo Russell swept the honors.

Player and Freshman of the Week: D?Angelo Russell, Ohio State, G, 6-5

  • Averaged 27.5 points, 8.0 assists and 6.5 rebounds per game in the Buckeyes? wins at Northwestern and versus nationally-ranked Indiana
  • For the week, shot 65.6 percent (21-of-32) from the field and 44.4 percent (8-of-18) from three-point range
  • Poured in a career-high 33 points on 12-of-17 shooting, corralled seven rebounds and handed out six assists against zero turnovers in the come-from-behind win at Northwestern
  • Posted his second double-double of the season with 22 points and 10 assists to go along with six rebounds against the Hoosiers
  • For the week, posted an assist/turnover ratio of 5.3 (16 assists, 3 turnovers)
  • Currently ranks second in the Big Ten in scoring with 22.3 points per game in conference play, and has converted a Big Ten-best 25 three-pointers in conference games
  • Earns his first career Big Ten Player of the Week honor, and collects his fourth Freshman of the Week plaudit
