Levern Jacobs

Maryland receiver Levern Jacobs and safety A.J. Hendy have been suspended for the season due to a violation of the University of Maryland's Student Code of Conduct, the team announced in a press release Friday evening.

Read head coach Randy Edsall's statement:

?I have spoken with Levern and A.J. and expressed my disappointment with their actions,? said head coach Randy Edsall. ?They showed poor judgment and failed to uphold the standards of a student-athlete at the University of Maryland. Both Levern and A.J. were regretful and apologetic about their role in this incident and understand that their actions will not allow them to participate in the upcoming football season.?

Maryland opens the season at 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday vs. James Madison on BTN/BTN2Go.
