(AP) Jake Waters threw for 271 yards and connected with Tyler Lockett on three touchdowns, leading Kansas State to its first bowl victory in 11 years, 31-14 over Michigan in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl on Saturday night.

Kansas State (8-5) scored on its first three possessions, all touchdown passes from Waters to Lockett, and its defense dominated Michigan to end a five-game bowl losing streak.

Lockett set a school record with 10 catches for 116 yards and Waters completed 21 of 27 passes, sending the Wildcats to their first bowl victory since the 2002 Holiday Bowl.

Freshman Shane Morris was steady in place of injured starter Devin Gardner, leading Michigan (7-6) on two early scoring drives. The Wolverines settled for field goals on both and did little the rest of the way, finishing with 261 total yards.

good match up. michigan should win, i see i nailed it with bill o brien. he is off the houston to coach the texans. he used penn state as a stepping stone and when the right
opportunity came he jumped ship. i told you so

Will the game be re-broadcast? Wasn’t able to record it….

well Jerry looks like you are batting 500 on that post- Michigan was NEVER in the game. Whats that? 4 straight seasons with at least 5 losses? Michigan is definitely a Spartan state.

I’d be worried for next year if I’m a Michigan fan that was an embarrassing butt whooping. Give that old turd Snyder a few weeks to prepare and he will out coach a lot of guys. B1G is about to be the laughing stock of the US going 0 – 9 in bowl games…
already big losers good look luck with all the bad coaching B1G!

pariahdox on 12/29/2013 @ 1:10pm EDT Said:

I’m going to count that as 0-2 for the B1G at this point. The AAC and ACC can take credit for those turds Rutgers and Maryland. Wow, ugly. Hope my Buckeyes can represent, but Meyer needs to get his head back on straight after that embarrassing display by his “high-powered”(read: predictable and UNBALANCED) offense in the champ. game… AND hope the D shows up somewhat? Is Fickell gone yet?

that “old turd Snyder” got a lot from Iowa’s Fry as an assistant – believe Ferentz got the same traits under Fry when he coached with Snyder. So do not count out the Hawks so fast – using your math Iowa is 4-1 against SEC in their last 5 bowl games – beating LSU, Fl, SC and Mo and losing close one to Fl – believe the Hawks were underdogs in each of those games

Michigan was TOTALLY outclassed by a superior Kansas State team! What a total ass-whipping the Wildcats put on the Wolverines. If there was any doubt, it was resolved on the first drive by the Wildcats…they showed their class and superior talent and it could have been, and should have been, a much more lopsided score than it was. It was never even as close as the final score. Congrats to Bill Snyder and his Wildcats…they deserved this win, and Michigan got just what it deserved! Arrogance and attitude DO NOT win games, as this one so really showed. I think Kansas State will be a definite favorite for the Big 12 title next year, and watch out…I think Bill Snyder wants a National Championship for KSU before he retires, whether it be next year or whenever…just watch out!

Like this was a big surprise. BIG BLUE and the BIG 10 are making me look like Einstein in these Bowls. Any one out there wondering why the BIG has became so Relevant Nationally…..Didn’t think so. Can we say 0-6 in Bowl games this year, and then to add insult to the League, Delaney picks up those powerhouses Rutgers and Maryland. What a JOKE

Superior talent??? LOL….True it was a butt whooping start to finish but that wasn’t the first time this sesaon. Kansas St did look very good but this is the same team that lost to North Dakota St. so you may want to watch your dumb remarks about championships for right now. You are still K-state and have yet to win anything. Hate to say this but B1G schools got to start playing for B1G pride instead of hating on each other. When I watch the SEC that’s the biggest difference not talent, they play for something. They chant SEC after every team wins not just the good ones. B1G has to start playing like they want to win and are playing for something bigger. If we don’t we maybe blocked from getting into the playoffs which is sad but would be deserved.
