If you didn’t hear, Ohio State is wearing a Nike “Rivalry” uniform for tonight’s primtime battle vs. Wisconsin. It’s very similar to the “Pro Combat” uniform the Buckeyes wore in last year’s win over archrival Michigan. In fact, the only difference is the jersey collar, which features seven Buckeye Leaves, a new design for all Ohio State uniforms.

Ohio State is rumored to wear a road version of the uniform in the season finale at Michigan. There’s also reports they could wear the uniform, which features a lot more black and a flashier helmet, for another home game.

I don’t like the idea of wearing different uniforms or the uniforms they wore. This is just another way of bastardising college football.

I’m not into the “Rivalry” uniforms, but I do love those chrome helmets!

NO… the helmets were ugly and the uni’s were sh*T…

I love the uniforms, they really help us stand out from Wisconsin and Nebraska who have very similar uniforms.

I think our traditional helmet should always be worn. Somethings just need left alone. TSUN winged helmet, ND gold helmet, and Penn State’s helmet are examples of a few other storied programs that should never change. It speaks to the tradition associated with each great university.

Hate the alternate jerseys and helmets more than commercials. Why not just change the colors to purple and yellow?

Bruce Jones, OSU '74 on 11/1/2013 @ 1:49pm EDT Said:

Why can’t we just stay with the traditional uniforms? They’ve been the teams Identity for some 50 years or more. Face it it’s the tradition and the Ohio family rooms on Saturday afternoon that have made this program and have helped make the NCAA profitable beyond all reason.

Love rivalry uniforms. Happy college football is capable of switching it up every now and then. As for these unis, I prefer the other rivalry uniforms they’ve worn. But the helmet on this one is sweet. Much prefer the red and white rivalry jerseys we wore against Michigan in the Pryor era.
