Fourth Quarter: Ohio State 42, San Diego State 7

No. 2 Ohio State held San Diego State to just 85 yards through the air on 8-of-16 passing and 104 yards in total offense in the fourth quarter and won 42-7.

San Diego State’s Quinn Kaehler topped 200 yards passing for the game in the quarter, finishing with 217 yards in total.

For the game, Kenny Guiton finished with 83 yards on nine carries with one touchdown for Ohio State and Kenny Guiton finished 19-28 for 152 yards passing with two touchdowns.

Third Quarter: Ohio State 42, San Diego State 7

The Buckeyes rushed for 67 yards in the quarter, and the margin is still 35, as Ohio State leads 42-7.

Ohio State made its lead 42-0 when Kenny Guiton found Corey (Philly) Brown open for a 24-yard touchdown pass on the last play of a nine-play, 66-yard drive.

San Diego State made the score 42-7 after Quinn Kaehler threw a two-yard touchdown pass to Chad Young to finish off a 72-yard drive.

The Buckeyes have the ball on their own 41-yard line to begin the fourth quarter.

Second Quarter: Ohio State 35, San Diego State 0

Relying on a dominant rushing attack, Ohio State leads San Diego State 35-0 at halftime.

The Buckeyes opened up the lead, 28-0, after Kenny Guiton scrambled for a 44-yard touchdown run to cap a five-play, 77-yard drive. OSU extended the lead to 35-0 thanks to a three-play, 24-yard drive that concluded with a Rod Smith one-yard touchdown run.

The Buckeyes will have possession to start the second half.

First Quarter: Ohio State 21, San Diego State 0

Showing balance between run and pass, Ohio State leads 21-0 at the end of the first quarter. Ohio State finished with 102 yards through the air and 80 on the ground in the quarter.

The Buckeyes struck first when Dontre Wilson ran seven yards for a touchdown, the final play of an eight-play, 50-yard drive.

Ohio State made its lead 14-0 when Kenny Guiton tossed a 27-yard touchdown to Corey (Philly) Brown on the last play of a five-play, 56-yard drive.

The Buckeyes opened up the lead, 21-0, after marching down the field for a nine-play, 57-yard drive that ended when Jordan Hall ran for a four-yard touchdown.

San Diego State will start the second quarter with the ball at its own 31-yard line.
