Badgers' McEvoy victim of 'strong armed robbery'

Tanner McEvoy, a member of the Wisconsin football team, was the victim of what Madison police are calling a “strong armed robbery” early Sunday morning in Madison. He suffered minor injuries and had his wallet, watch, and iPhone stolen. He resumed team activities on Monday.

Here is the incident report for the Madison Police Department. The police are investigating the incident and believe it was a random occurrence.

“First and foremost, we are happy that Tanner is physically OK after this attack,” Wisconsin coach Gary Andersen said. “It’s terrible to get a call about something like this but we are grateful the injuries were not serious.”

This is getting ridiculous. The MPD better do a better job of protecting people! Last year, it was Monte, now Tanner. This doesn’t do much for recruiting and look at the location. Someone’s head should roll or are you too busy giving parking tickets. Nice job MPD!!

I’m glad he’s okay. It could have been a lot worse.

Hmm… maybe they should just assign an officer to each member of the football team that way when they are leaving the bar/party they don’t get beat up or robbed. The taxpayers won’t mind paying that bill, taxes are high enough as it is.
