All-Big Ten team selection show airs Monday

BTN will present the exclusive, live announcement of the annual Big Ten basketball awards during the All-Conference Selection Show at 7 p.m. ET Monday. Dave Revsine (@BTNDaveRevsine) will host the show alongside analyst Jim Jackson (@BTNJimJackson). Interviews from select award winners will also be included during the 30-minute program.

The show will reveal All-Big Ten teams as selected by both the coaches and media. Coaches and media will select a Big Ten Player, Freshman and Coach of the Year. The coaches’ selections for Defensive Player and Sixth Man of the Year will also be announced.

The show kicks off a week of Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament coverage. Revsine, Jackson and Shon Morris host the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament Preview Show at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday.

This year the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament returns to the United Center in Chicago, the site of the inaugural event, for the first time since 2007. Throughout this season, the Big Ten has been widely regarded as the strongest conference in basketball. Through 18 weeks, the Big Ten has possessed the top spot in the AP Poll 11 times, and has had at least two teams ranked in the top-10 all season.
BTN’s tournament coverage includes the first two games on Thursday and games Seven and Eight on Friday. Gus Johnson and Shon Morris will call each BTN game, with Stephanie White reporting from the sideline.

Game One on Thursday between No. 8 and No. 9 tips off at noon ET, with Game Two between No. 5 and No. 12 to begin at approximately 2:30 PM ET. On Friday, Game Seven will feature the winner of No. 7 vs. No. 10 playing No. 2 at 6:30 PM ET. Game Eight will tip off at approximately 9 PM ET and feature the winner of No. 6 and No. 11 playing No. 3.

Seems crazy to dedicate a whole show to this. Did BTN also do this for the women’s selection? Does BTN do this for football? Other sports?

We’ve done similar shows at the end of each men’s basketball season and football season.

I think it’s great, and Rev/Jim were spot on. Go Green! When it comes to Big Ten ball, I can watch any team. There is nothing like college athletics.
